creating this new thread to collect all the comments and inputs about this Saturday to sum it up and to organize things again. Please feel free to write all your comments and suggestions.
The regstered number of pilots this Sat was around 18 + 2 non registered. This resulted in maximum of 3 flights per person (which is too crowded in my opinion), 1 suggestion was to limit the max number of pilots to 12 on saturday (old members counting to around 12) and to accept additional memberships for Sunday.
I am only thinking loud and writing some inputs I have heard on the field this Sat and trying to analyze the data.
Mostly envolved in organizing the turn was Hajj & Dany so there input is very valuable as well.
Next Sat should be only for insured members and whoever the committee would accept for membership.

I have 2 comments:

1- A rule must be added which states: Any rules that are to be added/amended/elaborated are to be approved by all commitee members prior to execution.
2- I heard very negative feedback on the turns rule #18 from most members including the Captain himself ! I believe (and this is what everybody said) this turns an enjoyable presense to a very annoying one. For instance I usually do only 1 or 2 flights during the day and I would like to fly them more or less when I feel like it !!! I believe the main problem is coming from those who really overdo it flying all the time, examples are Serge, Gaby, Carl (in the past), Fady Saikaly ... While each of us puts one or 2 flights during the day, those people manage 8 to 10 flights at least !!! I believe we should keep rule #18 for extreme cases but we should not overdo it trying to implement it, better to point out to those flying a lot to cool down a bit and everybody should try to be nice and fair and respect the others otherwise any of the EC members can put a limit for him and point it out !

Do we all agree that starting this Saturday only pilots with Insurance or at least with a receipt or proof of an insurance would be allowed to get airborne ?
Membership forms would also be distributed as well and only approved members would be allowed to fly as well ? This way at least we can make sure that the pilot number is not expending endlessly with more and more planes and Helis being sold. Amaz field would become the only national flying site in Lebanon and it is already over-crowded !!!!!

Since I am asked to give my feedback.thank you.
Although most people flew more than their average, the overall atmosphere was not a relaxed one.I remember seeing the amaz field with no flying activity for hours, and yet, everybody was having a good time.the flying mode this satrd. was not a NATURAL one.pilots wanted to fly, simply so as not to MISS THEIR TURN,and not for the JOY of flight itself.other pilots were under forced labour to prepare their planes so the turn will not pass them.IT appears to me that this created a lot of ANXIETY, and, unnecessary STRESS,on both pilots and organizers.ofcourse few mistakes also happened due to the HUMAN factor, which resulted in minor discrepencies, which could SNOWBALL in the future.
this one day experience really proved that anxiety and play cannot mix."PLAYING",flying, should come naturally and willingly,or,the benefits and joy would dissapear.in my humble opinion as long as there is good manners ,ethics, and respect to each other,(which is gladly the case),there should be no issue during a normal flying day.in case there is,then any member of the executive organizing commitee can butt in to solve.
the final organizational rules are really to an international standard.it makes one feel proud.

scratch building is fun...use that right angle to set EACH WINGTIP at a minimum height of 6.5 cm...

Thanks Hajj for your valuable input, What you said is so right. Maybe after finalizing the membership and insurance issue and not accepting additional pilots more then the ones already existing now then an ethical turn can take place instead of the written one. EC members can organize things, listen to pilot's complaints and make sure that all present pilots get a fair turn and ban over usage by others surely taking into consideration the seniority of the pilots as a major priority.
Any EC member can give flight clearance on the spot before any flight surely after checking the membership status and insurance validity.

First of all i would like to appologize to Alexei and fully take all the blame for Saturday incident, bearing in mind that i was the one who took the initiative to organize parking area without reffering to other committee members which was a wrong step to do, and i fully support addemdum rule no.1
I would like to stress on the fact that if it was not from Alex devotion and initiative this time, we would not be striving to organize our gatherings at Amaz in a tangible way.
This being said, i would very much like to read all of Saturday attendees, before giving out my comments order not cutting the road to good ideas and giving the chance to everyone to express themselves.

On Sturday there were people who made 1 or 2 flights and others who made 5 or more flights.
I made tolal 3 flights and the third flight was a chalenge to get turn because my turn was thrown behind three times. For this pilots should understand that they cannot make 16 flights to call it a day where as others only one or two. they cannot be pushy all the time.
We have to be more strict on the turns.

Thats the way Bahu bahu

Dany dont worry Smile you dont have to apologize this much, actually I have had so many bad things happen to me the last few days that my nerves were already on the limit and what made me really mad and flipped the "go home" switch was when skywalker shouted out telling me "mamnou3 el saffi hon" and then I saw his car parked there .... So I was angry at him more than at you Smile

It takes some time to find the best solution and satisfy every body.

No one is Forced to fly, unless he is willing to.

To organize the turns I would suggest printing numbers let us say from 1 to 30, and distributed as people come in to fly. The person who flies would return his number back and picks the last number on the shelf. and so on.

if someone does not wish to fly, his number would remain valid and they can claim their turn any time, But surely with the consent of his fellow members.

Any logical request should be always welcomed.

let us keep the good work going.javascript:emoticon('Wink')

Good idea, and when a person's turn comes he can pick another turn so he will accumulate turns to fly whenever he wishes.
Btw Avo, clean you mailbox, I am sending an mail to Lama@.... and your mailbox is giving an over quota autoreply.

And ultimately the best solution will be for some people to stop going up there, they should feel that they are not welcome and not go there alltogether !!! for instance like the weird tall guy who has a plane and a heli and does not talk with anybody, just flies w manno mahdoum abadan. People who know those people should help them understand that they ought to go fly somewhere else ...

Got many inputs about people nervous with the turn thing......One proposition could be to have ready lists for all registered pilots so we fill the time of arrival to the field and how may flights done. This way the least flighing pilot would always have priority and no high count of flights would be allowed.

Something is for sure, 2 RC shops has been opened lately in Chekka taking the total number of hobby shops to around 7 shops with 1 sole National flighing site (Amaz) so if "WE" don't stop the "Ahla W Sahla" thing then all of us including the Captain should go search for a new Runway.
This week we should finalize memberships and stop accepting any new ones.
Captain we badly need your comments on all that has been said here please. We should get some results from this momentum or we should admit that "THE 2 Owls" were right Very

can we have the names of our friends who were unhappy from the turn arrangements?? Perhaps we may talk to them individually, and ask them to bear with us. because we all like to fly as much as possible.

in the morning i had two consecutive flights because there was very few people, around 9 am that is.
when the arrangements started i added my name and waited and waited and waited then i had a flight.
from around 12 till in the after noun serge was supposed to fly after jean jaque but i felt khalas i have to fly, so i asked avo who was mentoring jj in the air if i can fly with them so he said yea why not, so i slipped myself infront of serge "sorry by the way" but if i didn't do that i would not had the chance to fly again that day.
besides i don't mind flying with anyone at the same time. i wonder why some guys have to come up with useless excuses to not fly with someone else, we have to break the fear from flying two three planes together.... we set the flying rules and no problems will happen, knowing that each pilot will have a caller and would detect any problem or danger.

besides the idea of a caller is not somone who is a friend or someone from the family, the caller should be a pilot who when sees danger is on the way can call it.

besides some pilots still prefer to hover over the cars, please no lying zones are totally strictly forbidden pleaseeee.....

hope i made my point Smile
thank you

i ask god to give people whatever they wish for me

Hi everybody ! I agree with Hajj comment (#4) !
Everybody is not at the field at the same time to give them numbers or turn etc... I would suggest a panel with a felt pen , and as soon as any one arrive , to write down his name, frequency after the last name . This way ,if the next is wanting to fly he will if not the next has the priority . This will take into consideration the number of pilots present that day . I think flying turns should be on a gentlemen agreement basis . Some prefer to wait for a good wind direction and velocity etc... Some come from a long distance and have to leave early , others enjoy flying on sun set ... Of course all the other rules concerning safety , insurance , should be implemented Thumbs Being subscribed as member is a priority Thumbs Limitation of members also should be taken into consideration Exclamation We are overcrowded on Saturdays Exclamation This Sunday we were about 5 pilots , we were begging each other to fly to the extent that we tried to convince Alexus to fly his BMW as you see on the pictures LaughingLaughingLaughing
We can have up to as many aircraft in the air as we want as far as safety is respected Wink
Please always keep in mind that it's a joy being together every single week end and each one of us is so sad when somebody doesn't show up for some reason Wink Let us enjoy our super hobby in a super mind Thumbs
Bzw , i love the name and our logo , we should add a " LAMA number " for each pilot , make stickers and put them on every plane Idea

I Dont know what Im Doing but im an Expert at it ! Whether im right or im wrong I'm still the captain!

If we don't fail we cannot succeed... Remember the F-15 lesson!!
This Saturday was meant to be what it was, on purpose!!!
Results in my humble opinion are as follow:
1- taking turn in flying should not be formal and mandatory.
2- atmosphere should remain relaxed as this is the purpose of this hobby
3- in order to be able to benefit from more flying time, it is imperative to start learning to fly while others are in the sky at the same time and try to organize things in that direction.
4- This experience was mainly meant to show the difference between pilots who are able to achieve several flights while others have bearly the chance to fly once or twice a day!!!

A public panel is a great idea which releases pressure on field responsible and can be easily monitored by all.

On a different note would appreciate to have a feedback from pilots who do not mind having other fellow pilots in the air at the same time (you can choose the other pilot(s) you wish to fly with at the same time).

This is the beginning of the road and i am confident that we can achieve great things in good spirit and joyful atmosphere.Thumbs

Mounir and Dany it is only possible to fly several people at the same time if those people respect a no fly zone and adapt a flying pattern.
Thats why we have to stress on the flying zone.
