I am pleased to inform you that our captain is in the process of hosting the famous RC Champion: Rémi Epron.
Some of you know Rémi from numerous international events, and he is willing to offer his services at AMAZ airfield, including fine-tuning helis and giving private lessons upon request.
I have launched this thread to allow AMAZRC Pilots to discuss the details of this visit and communicate their needs in terms of lessons, heli setups, fine-tuning, etc...
This is a lifetime opportunity so I strongly encourage you to take part in this exceptional event!

Setup, Fine-Tuning or Private Lessons?
If i understood correctly, Remi will manage to bring along his heli fleet for training purposes (Regardless of the flying mode).
Think he'd mind teaching us the chaos 2 meters above the ground??Rolling

Thanks Guyo for being so fast with the annoucement Thumbs It is important to now how many persons are interested and how many helis per person and the radio used by the person Jr or Futaba so as to let Remi know the kind of hardware he should bring with him and to fix the time he should spent with us... So waiting for the feed back from all of youExclamation

As far as I'm concerned, I'm mainly interested in practicing some advanced routines like piro-flips/chaos.
As for Heli Setup and Fine Tuning, I'm quite happy with the setup that was made for me by our pro Michel-Henry NoujaimThumbs

I am in. Would love to do some crazy flying with no danger of crashing Smile
But I think it is very important to know the price that will be charged/Hour-Session. When we can get the figures ?
Will we be using our own Radios on a trainer cord ???
I am using a JR PCM 9XII mode 1 and I fly a Sceadu EVO 50.

Guys ! Any brand of shoper could be set up and fine tuned on his own TX ! All lessons will be performed with Remi's shoper . Money wise have to be discussed with Remi depending on what he will have to do over here ( We will discuss it among us also ! ) ... Time scheduale will also will be discussed once we meet . Remi has never been in Lebanon before and would love to see the country with his bride !!! And this what he's looking for first Thumbs

Hi all,

Thanks Guyo for the kind words.
I have received a few calls inquiring about Remi's visit so here is my take on it:

I have personnally known Remi for many years now and he's been a mentor to me and many people around the world.
He is one of the few top 3D pilots worldwide who combine both tremendous pilot talents with a HUGE experience as an instructor.
He has also collaborated on the technical development of many of the machines we've been flying these past years.

Him and I have discussed his coming to Lebanon a few times in the past but without being able to make it a reality. I am very happy and thankfull that thru Pete's initiative this project becomes a reality.

I STRONGLY advise anyone interested not to let this occasion pass as we can all profit from Remi's extensive knowledge-base, experience and above all professionalism.

By bringing-in his own fleet and sets of radios he can accomodate every single one of us wether in terms of radio modes, setup or direct-assist flying lessons.

Hope this answers some of your questions.

Hello Buhu,
the schedule isn't planned yet. My fleet would have to be shipped there. For the flight instruction, we would use only my helis, as I know exactly the limits of their flight envelope, and I know how they have been prepared and maintained for the heavy duty.
I could setup and fine tune your models no problem.
regards,
Remi

Hi Guys,

Actually Pete's Synergy saw the hands of Rémi here in Paris...

I am sure you can figure out a way to do the lessons with one heli. You can build a new Synergy, or whatever, in 2 weeks and it will be used for the lessons with a T14 and a 9ZWC2...

I am sure someone has a spare kit of evo90 3D ...although somebody now knows how to get a Synergy kit quickly...

Although setting up the heli is very important to fly, i don't tink you should let Rémi come in without the possibility of taking some lessons...

And yes, it will be easier not to take the risk of him coming in with all his armada, and have his stuff blocked somewhere....

What do you think?

Joe

Joe # 33
9/3/2007
...oh, and maybe each one can offer something for that weekend and then take it back when Rémi leaves (gyro, servos, engine, gv1)...

You're old enough to figure out, and you won't be disapointed.

I know what i am talking about...

Wow Thumbs great news guys, we will have the chance then to train on a T14 as well as a Synergy and Evo90. I am in, I will take no risk as well with my armada and will take my lessons on the above mentioned gear.
Seems we will be having fun after all. Great idea Joe Idea
Just one question who should we thank for risking his gear for us ?
Wink

...so if i understand correctly, you want everything handed to you on a silver plate without doing anything for it???
You are 6 or 7 interested guys in doing this, what will you do to get Rémi?
skywalker # 38
14/3/2007
Frankly speaking and following no signs of overwhelming comments on the latest proposal I previously posted my thread. The whole idea of training sessions is the Trainer/gear combination and high reliability from which we are lacking the second ingredient. Sad
One proposal would be at least to organize collective lessons on fine tuning Helis and maybe some surely outstanding flights by Remi while keeping the possibilty of individual training sessions given by Remi to interested people on their respective kits.

Guys,
My opinion is the following:
To avoid a dead end and to get Remi and really benefit from his extensive experience, the event MUST be sponsored by all Heli Pilots. Technical and financial details have to be discussed in a meeting that SHOULD be serious this time and should be agreed upon as soon as possible if we all agree on this. I expect everybody to post his opinion on the above proposal and if everybody agrees, we must proceed with the actual meeting.
Main people involved and whom I expect should reply are the following: The Captain of course, Fadi Adam, Guy Boustany, Georges Antaki, Said Khalil, Sebouh Babahekian, Hady Tanissa, Michel Henri Njeim, Avedis Tutunjian and myself.
For me the only dilemma is how am I going to benefit and try new advanced maneuvers with MY OWN heli (since Remi will not bring any of his training helis), there are 2 drawbacks for this, 1- there is the fear factor of crashing my machine, 2- My Sceadu EVO 50 may not be up to the job.
The idea of collective assembly of a 90 size training heli that Joe proposed looks farfetched and has been looked upon sarcastically by everybody. The point is if Mr. X has put an equal share of money/parts into this heli as everybody and Mr.Y crashes it while training before even Mr. X gets a chance to fly it (mishaps happen), the situation will not be nice and Mr. X will end up angry/sad. Assembling more than 1 heli is out of the question and getting spares takes at least 2 weeks here ! So I think that it is important that Remi DOES ship at least 1 or 2 of his training Helis and WE have to account for this expense.

Joe # 42
21/3/2007
Getting Rémi's Heli to pass the airport security and customs is the issue for the moment and not the expense. If you have a solution for this, then it is by far the best one.
As for putting up a 90 heli, all main spare parts can be arranged to be at hand before the event(tail boom, torque tubes, tail gears, landing gears, mais shafts and spindle...) The advantage is that Rémi will have to set up one heli and 2 radios and not 7 with different radios + the problem of compatibility with the master and student radios...And with Rémi in lessons, you don't crash...often, if he has taken the time to inspect and verify the gear. And this is easily done on one heli than on 7 or 8 over one week-end. There is always a risk, even with his helis to crash, but i've never seen this. Pete has done it here in Paris and he can tell.
PS : i can maybe offer the kit, if it is a Synergy, because i know i will get it back (at least 90% of it), and i will not even fly with Rémi there...

21/3/2007
I agree that a meeting should be called for, asap, in order to discuss matters further and perhaps find a solution to the various issues rightly brought up by some of you.

I am afraid that I cannot offer more help or opinion at this time cause the only fresh info I have about this whole project is thru what I have gathered from this forum.

So you have my vote for a meeting call dear Mr. Alexy Karam. Now we can all bicker about the when and where? VerySmileSad

Guys a meeting is mandatory and as Alex said at least everyone interested by the project should join Exclamation So decide when and where Question
